I will never get over the detail in this scene.
Fucking Miyazaki, man.
Marble sculpture of the impression made in the pillow of his late father in-law after lifting him up from his death bed.

BIOSHOCK INFINITE! Excited but ohhhhh so so nervous about it. Gender roles and stock main character aside- worried about the copy paste similarities from the first but we’ll see I guess! + v + I wont beat it down too much until I get my hands on it + H + Way more excited than apprehensive. while I have issues with the game I’m going to give it another shot and play through it again, kind of like watching a movie twice and see if I enjoy it more. But this art is badass.
MODERN GAMES AS ATARI CARTRIDGES (Part 1)
Shortly after posting this first batch of modern games with an 8bit twist back in July the deviantART account that created them was deactivated and it seemed our days of modern/Atari art were over.
Now all that’s changed because the artist has created a new deviantART account and has uploaded a tonof new cartridges that they’ve designed. My favorite is the Fallout 3 one. That dog in the capsule has no idea what kind of trouble it’s in.
Visit StarRoivas on deviantART to see their complete collection of Atari art.

“Happy Little Accidents”
Coke Wisdom O’Neal
Mixed Greens Gallery, 531 W26th St., NYC
On October 29, 2012, O’Neal’s Red Hook studio suffered total destruction from Superstorm Sandy. Tools, books, completed artwork, and unfinished pieces were ruined. And yet, as the floodwaters receded, a series of old family slides emerged reborn. Instead of accepting them as lost, O’Neal rescued the slide sheets to scan and print. Once-crisp images are now cloud-like watercolors, often with distinguishable central details preserved. Air bubbles result in a fish-eye effect recalling the colorfully foggy nature of nostalgia and O’Neal’s compulsion to save the past. - thru April 20

I’d like to point out that we live in a “rape culture” because we are too fucking afraid of it. I really sympathize with young women today, and not because they’re being raped, but because they’re being overwhelmed with this shit. A young girl going off to college shouldn’t be afraid of moving to the city because of the possibility that, when she’s out alone, she’ll get lured in somewhere and raped. A little elementary and middle school girl shouldn’t have to consider the procedure to get themselves out of a hostile situation with a man. There shouldn’t be a self-defense class as a gym unit at my school.
It doesn’t always happen like the movies. Most of the time, you know the person who is raping you. Just because there’s a rapist “on the loose” in your neighborhood doesn’t mean it’s inevitable that he’ll get you next. Also, the 2-8% fake charges is a total lie. Maybe that’s the charges that went to court, but I’ve seen even in my immediate area a crazy ex-girlfriend who threatened to cry rape on some guy she broke up with.
I agree that if you’re caught, you are caught, and you should be put in jail for a really good amount of time. However you put it, though, raping someone is a lot different than taking someone’s life. Don’t expect fucking life sentences for these people. However sick and twisted rapists are, they aren’t murderers, and in the eyes of the law (and not me, for the record), that distinction is what makes the difference.
And, really, we all know that politicians are dumb. Let’s get over that. You’re not going to change anything until you get elected, and if you don’t have millions to spend on a campaign, then that sucks for you.
